LAHORE: West Indies will play a practice match ahead of the two-match away Test series against Pakistan, sources said Geographic News on Sunday.

According to details, West Indies will embark on their Test tour of Pakistan with a three-day training session against Pakistan Shaheens, which is likely to be played in Rawalpindi.

Sources further revealed that West Indies are expected to arrive in Islamabad on January 6 and after competing in the practice match, they will leave for Multan.

According to the original schedule, Karachi was supposed to host the opening Test, but due to the ongoing renovation process at the National Stadium, it is being considered to be moved to Multan, which will also host the second red-ball game.

The two-match series will be played from January 16 to 28.

As a result, the tri-national series, originally scheduled to be played in Multan, is likely to be held in Karachi and Lahore.

For the unversed, Pakistan will host New Zealand and South Africa for a triple ODI series just days before the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled to take place from February 19 to March 9.

The series is scheduled to be played in Multan from February 8 to 14, providing all three teams with ample opportunity to enhance their preparations for the eight-team tournament.
