LAHORE: The registration window for foreign players to volunteer their availability for the upcoming 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) opened on Thursday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed.

The cricket board also said that category renewals for the next edition will be announced on Tuesday, while the process of demotion and retention of players will be carried out during this month.

It is worth remembering that the player draft for PSL 10 will take place on January 11, 2025, with the location and time yet to be announced.

It was reported last week that franchises suggested holding the PSL 10 player draft abroad, in England or Dubai, to increase the league’s popularity.

PSL CEO Salman Naseer expressed his excitement over the opening of the foreign player registration window and shared that his team is “committed” to providing fans with unparalleled experiences.

“We are pleased to announce the opening of the registration process for foreign players, as well as the negotiation window. This marks an exciting start to the preparations for the much-awaited 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League.

“HBL PSL is a local brand that we are all proud of. Since its creation in 2016, together with our franchisees, commercial partners and stakeholders, we have embarked on a long and successful journey.

“The quality and competitiveness of the cricket played is unmatched and we will strive to meet the expectations of our loyal fans. The landmark 10th season promises to bring more excitement for everyone and the HBL PSL team is committed to working tirelessly to provide fans with unparalleled experiences.”

Since the inception of the premier league, Islamabad United has won three titles, followed by Lahore Qalandars with two, while Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans have won once each.
