JOHANNESBURG: The Pakistan team led by Mohammad Rizwan arrived here on Friday ahead of the final ODI of the ongoing three-match series scheduled to be played here at The Wanderers Stadium on Sunday.

According to details, the national team arrived here on Friday afternoon for the third game with an aim to register their first series win against the Proteas Men in the format.

Upon arriving here, the green shirts will rest today and train on Saturday afternoon.

For those who don’t know, Pakistan have an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ongoing series thanks to their 81-run win in the second ODI on Thursday.

The series victory marked Pakistan’s third triumph on South African soil, following successes in 2013 and 2021.

As a result, the Green Shirts drew with Australia, who were the only team to secure three ODI series victories over South Africa at home, in 1997, 2002 and 2011.

Before that, Pakistan won the ODI series against Zimbabwe and Australia in their backyard, re-establishing their position as one of the top teams in the format just months before the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy.
