Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf has been nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for November 2024, beating India’s Jasprit Bumrah and South African Marco Jansen to claim the prestigious recognition.
Rauf’s exceptional form across formats played a key role in Pakistan’s historic series victory in Australia, earning him the monthly award.
The 31-year-old was instrumental in Pakistan’s first ODI series victory in Australia in 22 years, finishing with an impressive 18 wickets.
His standout performance came in the second ODI of the series against Australia when Pakistan trailed 1-0.
Rauf put in a bowling display in Adelaide, achieving a career-best result of 5/29.
His spell reduced Australia to just 163 runs, setting up Pakistan’s emphatic nine-wicket victory and leveling the series.
The right-hand pacer’s exceptional form carried over into the crucial third ODI when he took two more wickets, playing a key role in Pakistan’s 2-1 series triumph.
His overall impact earned him Player of the Series honors.
In the subsequent T20I series, Rauf continued his excellent form, taking five wickets, including a four-wicket haul in Sydney, which marked his fourth in T20Is.
He then traveled with Pakistan to Zimbabwe, where he added three more wickets to his tally in three ODIs, helping Pakistan secure a 2–1 series victory.
Rauf is currently part of Pakistan’s squad for the T20I series against South Africa. He remained wicketless in the series opener, conceding 44 runs in his allotted spell.
It is pertinent to note that the second T20I between the two teams will take place in Centurion this Friday.
