Opening batsman Babar Azam has made a significant jump in the latest ICC T20I rankings, while white-ball captain Mohammad Rizwan and left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi have experienced major slumps.
Babar, who is now ranked sixth, has overtaken Rizwan, who has dropped two places to eighth place, with 704 rating points in the latest ICC T20I batsman rankings.
Australian Travis Head continues to dominate as the number one T20I batsman with 855 rating points, followed by England’s Phil Salt in second place and India’s Tilak Varma in third.
In the bowling rankings, Shaheen Afridi drops one position, from 20th to 21st, with 599 rating points. Haris Rauf also dropped three places, falling to 26th with 573 rating points.
Young pacer Abbas Afridi moved up two places from 43rd to 41st with 526 rating points.
Shadab Khan also suffered a significant drop, dropping six places to 71st with 444 rating points.
“West Indies’ Akeal Hosein dethrones England’s Adil Rashid as number one T20I bowler”. Rashid now occupies second place, with Wanindu Hasaranga of Sri Lanka in third.
Shifting focus to the ICC ODI rankings, both Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique recorded a decline in their positions.
Saim, despite scoring a century against South Africa in the first ODI, dropped one place to 80th with 470 points. Abdullah Shafique, struggling with the bat, dropped to 77th with 472 points.
Meanwhile, players like Fakhar Zaman (16th), Imam-ul-Haq (18th) and Mohammad Rizwan (24th) maintained their rankings.
Babar Azam continues to dominate as the number one ODI batsman, with Indians Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill occupying the second and third positions respectively.
In the ODI bowling rankings, Haris Rauf has maintained his 15th position while Mohammad Wasim Jr. is at 52nd, Naseem Shah at 61st and Mohammad Nawaz at 67th.
Meanwhile, in the Test batting rankings, Babar Azam has progressed, moving up one place to 17th place with 670 rating points.
Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Rizwan maintained their positions at 19th and 20th respectively.
Imam-ul-Haq was promoted to 42nd while Abdullah Shafique dropped to 48th. Shan Masood also showed a slight improvement, rising to 57th.
In the Test bowling department, Pakistan’s Noman Ali maintained 10th position while Shaheen Afridi remained at 19th.
Hasan Ali and Sajid Khan suffered falls, placing 38th and 40th respectively.
Naseem Shah also fell to 42nd, while Abrar Ahmed rose to 58th and Khurram Shehzad rose to 60th.
India’s Jasprit Bumrah continues to top the Test player rankings, followed by South African Kagiso Rabada and Australian Josh Hazlewood.
