BULAWAYO: Pakistan stand-in captain Salman Ali Agha expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance in the second T20I of the three-match series against Zimbabwe here at the Queens Sports Club on Tuesday.
Agha, while speaking at the post-match presentation after Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe by 10 wickets in the aforementioned game, reiterated that the Green Shirts want to play in a dominant manner and are good enough to produce the desired results irrespective of the draw.
“That’s how we want to play. We don’t want to play according to the draw. We are a good enough team to win first batting or bowling,” Agha said.
Agha, who is leading a young Pakistan team in the ongoing series, said it was encouraging to see emerging talents performing effectively in the national team.
“We are a quality team and the performance of the young players is very encouraging to see,” said Agha.
“The way they (Abrar and Sufiyan) bowled was excellent. I’m very happy and the team is very happy. We didn’t win the T20I series in Australia and we want to continue,” he added.
Salman Ali Agha further supported the team’s pace attack, which has been relatively dull on the Zimbabwe tour compared to the spinners.
“We have plans and we are executing them very well. We want to hit the deck hard and the way they are doing it is going very well”, concluded Agha.
The victory gave the visitors an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ongoing series, with the third match scheduled for the same venue on December 5th.
